During the development for the TI C2000 LaunchPad when the code is running some sort of communication might be required between the board and a PC. Using Simulink, the embedded coder support library provides blocks for communication, however, without the proper settings and design these will operate quite poorly. The aim of this final project is to show methods for creating a reliable communication interface. The basics are shown for creating both side of the interface, which on the one hand, contains the implementation of data structures and scheduling of the transmission at the board. On the other hand, the method is presented for creating a MATLAB Graphical User Interface (GUI) programmatically as well as it provides a convenient tool for controlling and checking the board. An example interface was created in order to determine the capabilities and limits. The implementation is detailed and the created blocks can be used for debugging purposes, although it is recommended creating task-oriented GUIs based on the shown methods.
