In small and medium-sized enterprise environment the infrastructure is much

smaller, therefore easier firewall solutions are preferable, however this

leaves out a lot of potential in network security.

To be able to utilize these potentials both the administrators and the

company need to invest energy in network security.

If using a complex firewall solution would be possible, like Zorp, then

company network security could be increased drastically. To accomplish this

the configuration of Zorp needs to be simplified, with this simplification

Zorp could be used without any extra cost of maintenance or domain specific

knowledge.

ClearOS is a Linux distribution developed to be used by small and medium-sized

companies, ClearOS is capable to be integrated with Zorp.

The applications of ClearOS have their web administrator interface, in which

administrators can configure their back-end Linux applications.

The integration to the ClearOS was done in two steps. The first step was the

installation of Zorp and kZorp kernel module. The problem in this case was the

difference between the officially supported kernel version, by Zorp, the Ubuntu and

the ClearOS kernel version. The second step was the implementation of the

ClearOS web applications which is able to configure Zorp.

The second step was the implementation of the ClearOS web applications which

is able to configure Zorp. The second step was the implementation of the

ClearOS web applications which is able to configure Zorp. During my work I

looked for solutions for these to tasks.
