Android system on a Xilinx Zynq platform

The purpose of my thesis is the study of two popular fields, the Zynq SoC, combining the advantages of programmable logic and microprocessor, having a Xilinx FPGA and an ARM microprocessor and the Android operation system, which has ongoing popularity on embedded devices. During my work I got familiarized with the Zynq SoC architecture, the possibilities of its hardware and software development, the field of its use. Besides I also got acquainted with the Linux operation system, and its kernel, which provides the fundamental of Android system. At last I got familiarized with the necessary requirements of porting Android to various devices.

With the knowledge I earned during my work, I managed to port Android to the development environment of Zynq, Zedboard. At last I wrote an Android application to test the functionality of the ported system. With this application the control of the on the programmable logic part implemented LEDs is ensured to the user by a keyboard, connected to Zedboard.
