In the thesis, I examine the problems of the product identification solutions in supermarkets and also suggest opportunities on how these problems can be tackled. In these opportunities, I will use optical state-of-the-art imaging solutions, that involves neural networks with different implementations. I will give you some introspections in the theory of object detection with an image. And with this knowledge, I will give you a plan with its developmental phases, directions to the solution, and also some further suggestion on how you can continue this project. The thesis gives you a short review of the state-of-the-art solutions in the field of object detection and also refers to its difficulties. For these difficulties, it gives you some more opportunities for engineering and research. On the whole, the product identification can be traced back to optical object detection in the field of computer vision. The thesis reviews the opportunities of computer visions with examples from supermarket's product identification.
