In the last few years, cloud storages have become increasingly popular and have been used in all informatic fields. Day by day more and more data is being stored, which bears a huge security risk for both participants of the cloud services. The incorrect handling of this data can cause serious damages, which is why data protection is an urgent need. Developers and service provders are realising that they need more and more focus on safety and all kind of encryption solutions. A possible way to solve this problem is to apply attribute based encryption in the cloud services.

This document presents the theoretical background of attribute based encryption, and provides a detailed insight in the methods of ciphertext-policy ABE. In this document, a framework is designed, which can implement a multi-user, permission based, encrypted remote file storage system. The Framework is then applied in an environment designed and realised by me. The application is then tested and the test results are evaluated in the work.
