Audio Meter Implementation on Android-Based Smartphone

Nowadays there are bigger and bigger noise effects on the people, so that is why very important to screen our hearing. The audiometers are used to measure our hearing. In this thesis, I will present an Android Audiometer (AnA I) application. I implemented the app to Android because today (06.05.2017) the Android operating systems have the biggest share in the mobile market.

The implementation of the audiometer was done according to the principles of the MSZ EN 600645-1:2015 standard. According to this standard, this type of audiometer can handle two types of measuring method. One is the pulse tone and the other is the pure tone. Stereo headphones and insert earphones can be connected to the audiometer via Bluetooth or cable. The implementation made in the Android Studio developer in Java language.

I have chosen the iterative development for the project. So the whole project was made in smaller tasks where the implementation always followed by testing. So, in the end, the audiometer can measure hearing accurately.

The application can be enhanced with more measuring methods or with a database to store the patient results in the future.
