Buiding an auction web application with ASP.NET MVC

Over the last couple of years the number of Internet users in Hungary and around the world has increased significantly. At the same time, the Internet itself has continuously evolved, new technologies, types of services appeared, improved and fused together. Today the Internet has become a part of everyday life in almost every sphere of life for millions, they get to know each other and communicate through social networking sites, write blogs, manage their administrative affairs, organize travel, read news. Business changed too, new business models have emerged and become indispensable, while others have been slowly pushed back and become outdated. Today

electronic commerce is one of the most dynamically growing sector, it's best known representatives are the web shops and the web auction sites.

Of course with the changes taking place on the Internet, the tools and techniques of developing web content and applications improved also. One such technology is the still relatively new Microsoft ASP.NET MVC framework.

My task was to develop an web auction application using ASP.NET MVC technology,that allows users to upload their own products and to purchase the products uploaded by others.

In my thesis at first, after a brief introduction on electronic commerce, I present the technologies I used. The subsequent chapter presents the development of the auction application, starting with the job specification, through design, to the pages of the final application. Finally I close my work with an evaluation and the introduction to further development opportunities of my application.
