Designing an EOL tester for embedded automotive device

The production of electronic devices is a complex process that may contain potential defects. Therefore testing is necessary during the production process. End-of-line test is the last one that checks the entire functionality of a unit.

The subject of this thesis is to design and create the end-of-line tester device suitable for a particular embedded automotive hardware post-production testing. Besides checking the hardware functionality, the device measures electrical parameters. Small-scale production makes the tester creation necessary.

First part of the thesis describes the most common testing procedures used during the production process. The operation of embedded automotive hardware and its communication interfaces is presented then.

Next section describes a possible testing method and then the specification process of the end-of-line tester device. Based on the specification, the hardware and software is designed then.

Last part of the thesis shows the steps of revival of the circuit and of checking its functionality. Further development possibilities are presented then.
