In the world of amateur astronomy emerge more and more precision electric telescope mounts and dome observatories. These mounts are motorized and equipped with intelligent elecronics, therefore most of them are controlable trough the internet. With these systems and the help of some other instruments, astronomers can take astrophotos. To achieve this, a full dome automation system is necessary to control the dome rotation and door.
The aim of this dissertation is developing a dome automation system to rotate and open-close the dome, control the lightening, and manage some useful sensors in the observatory.
First of all, the goals have been collected and summarised. On the basis of these, a theoretical system plan has been created. In the main sections this plan has been worked out in detail, then manufacturing and test processes have been presented. Finally device functions, known issues and future developing posibilities have been introduced.
