Power supply and transformer optimization of Langmuir detector charge density meter for on-board ESEO satellite

The thesis subject is the power supply of the LMP plasma diagnostic instrument on board the ESEO satellite. After the introduction of the scientific goals and the instrument functionality of the LMP experiment the generally used on board layouts of the secondary power supply types are overviewed.

The Flyback converter was selected as the most suitable converter for the task. After the description of the electronic block diagram and the detailed design of each block and electronic component are given. In the thesis the construction of the inductive components are focused specially. The manufacturing description of the improved power transformer and the qualification level measurements are given. For verification of the design improvement it is performed an analysis of four coil construction methods. The main purpose is to reduce the leakage inductance.
