In recent years smartphones has become widely available. One of the most important side effect of this process is that having all time Internet access became available for a significant amount of people. This has not only changed how we consume music, videos or social media but the way how we communicate; nowadays social applications are the most popular way of everyday – and even business – communication. These applications not only include instant messaging, continuous online-availability but also can have hundreds of millions of active users. Applications supporting teamwork and collaboration also belong to this category as already started to build a solid presence in office communication.
In this thesis my goal was to develop an application for iOS according to the latest trends containing the most important features leveraging the latest technologies. Throughout the project I created an iOS application that consumes the features of a backend server, then extended this server component in order to provide new advanced functionality for the clients.
The result of the project is an application that allows users to talk directly to each other or to multiple team members via a team discussion. They can share their location and have the opportunity to locate other members on a map real time. Furthermore they can invite friends to join the team and also can edit various things in their personal profile.
