The computer-aided medicine developed rapid in recent years, both the clinically, in diagnosis and in research. The computer-assisted medicine can make it easier to treat and prevent diseases for doctors. Computer-aided image processing has a great potential, and it’s one of the most exploitable part in the field of computer-aided medicine. Such procedures and machines are saving a lot of time and effort for the doctors, while being accurate and they can be used in many areas.
Medical imaging equipments provide a lot of information about the patient and through digital processes this information can be used easily i computerized procedures. This study contains analyzes of CT recordings of bones.
The aim of this study is to detect bone areas with differente morphological properties.
Through my work I will overview and compare computer-aided bone-segmentational methods, and I will choose one which I will use in my work. When choosing the method, I shall take into account the practices and methods in medical diagnosis.
I will implement the choosen method, and test it on real data, then analyse it’s effectiveness.
The tissue-segmentation on CT scans will be done on the basis of density and types of morphological features. The implemented method will have adjustable parameters for the sought tissues, thereby improving the accuracy of the method. To do so, it will be necessary to have some knowledge in medicine of the area, also, a doctors opinion will be requested.
