The central topic of my thesis is the receiving, decoding and displaying the DCF77 called time signal. The received data is going to be sent to the LIN bus.
The starting device is the one of the best equipped developer kit, the STM32F4 Discovery kit. The receiver module is manufactured by Conrad electronic.
In the first part of the document, I review the theoretical background related to the topic. I will discuss the DCF77 signal, LIN bus and the Discovery kit.
In the second part I will show the solution step-by step. The first step is the plan of the system. The implementation can be divided into two main parts, one hardware and software close to hardware, which called firmware.
The system contains two elements, one is the central device, and the other one is the receiver module.
After the hardware design the firmware development described. The firmware can be divided into a number of modules. There is a central control program, which brings together the sub-modules. These sub-modules constituting part of the LIN bus communication, display driver and the DCF77 decoder.
I used bread board, so I could develop in parallel with the hardware and software, did not have to wait for the completion of the PCB. As a result, I could develop in parallel with the hardware and software, did not have to wait for the completion of the PCB.
Almost every target has been achieved, but unfortunately the PCBs have not been manufactured since I ran out of time, but I am nevertheless satisfied, because a lot of knowledge I have gained during the work, and managed to produce a working system.
