In order to make the signaling network monitoring system capable to detect a wide variety of network failures, real time and accurate processing of huge amounts of data should be processed while we have to be prepared for network traffic failure, as well as deviations from standards and possible manufacturer specific implementations too. It can be readily accepted that the development of these programs is only possible with well conceived and handled software development processes.
The aim of my thesis is to design and create a high level automated DevOps framework to support the SGA-7N signaling network monitoring system’s (which is developed by AITIA International Informatics, Inc.) software development processes.
In my dissertation I describe the various models of the software lifecycle management and highlight the advantages and disadvantages of these implementations. After that, I present the introduction of the increasingly popular DevOps methodology. Without the introduction of this approach is almost impossible to create and operate efficiently long term sustainable software development processes. After it I demonstrate some of the modules in the monitoring system and the monitored networks and protocols, because this knowledge is also essential for creating a supportive framework.
At the end of my thesis, with the experience I gained, I plan and implement a DevOps based framework to support the software development processes of the SGA-7N signaling network monitoring system.
