General care and diagnostics of the EEPROM content

Todays, the one of the most important requirement of the transport is security. The safety critical systems are responsible for this property in different vehicles. The safety-critical system is an information system that can be operated with the following requirement: not to endanger human life and health, not to cause economic or environmental damages. The Knorr-Bremse Ltd.’s wide variety of products made and develop in this spirit.

In my thesis the electronic control units (ECU) software will be described, including EEPROM handler module for storing identification data. I will show the structure design options of EEPROM, and the services and interfaces of the EEPROM handler module. The thesis also includes the designing of a module which performs special diagnostics functions independently from the system. After the implementation of the module, the thesis also contains the preparation of test specification. The test will check the working of the module and evaluate the results.
