Designing of EOS watchdog circuit for HP1000 function tester

The topic of my thesis was designing and building a device that is capable to watch disturbances what can lead to an EOS (Electrical Overstress) event.

Before starting to design, I determined the specification of the circuit. The needs of the circuit, was due to a TVS (transient voltage suppressor) diode. The specification was based on the knowing of the EOS event and the datasheet of the TVS diode.

First of all, I was defining the concept of the circuit and afterwards I choose the main components of it.

For the next step I was creating the schematic of the circuit. I have specified the functionality and calculate the values of the main modules.

After the designing process, first I was built and tested the EOS watchdog circuit on a bread board. After the successful test I have designed and implemented the PCB of the device.

After the implantation of the components, I checked the measurements and the operation of the circuit. I present these measurement results and I make conclusions at the end of my thesis.
