Processing data with big data and artifical intelligence technologies in the healthcare domain

Nowadays there are more and more cheap and fast devices available in the IT

market. The volume of the generated data has increased by orders of magnitude because

of the usage of these devices. This alteration can be perceived in several fields of life.

People seem to always have an internet equipped phone with them, and it is not

uncommon that one measures its physical activity with smart bracelets or other smart

devices.

This progression has reached the healthcare domain as well. Although this field

was originally quite slow and conservative whenever a new technology occured, we can

argue that this practice is changing and emerging technologies are welcome in the

healthcare industry. There is a huge potential in the convergence of information

technology and healthcare.

In this paper, my primary objective is to introduce an analytic system, which is

capable of measuring and computing healthcare data to obtain valuable information out

of it, and return this new knowledge to the data provider. The development process and

the underlying infrastructure of the system is presented. Furthermore the applied

mathematical and machine learning techniques will be presented.
