Medical device control with Android client

Today’s society tends to neglect its health and only consult a doctor, when it is evolved an even greater problem. Due to the technology advances and to the presence of smart phones today it is possible to introduce such devices to the market, which are able to perform physiological measurements, meet the requirements of the social needs and can be handled by custom users.

Within the framework of my thesis I had to connect a pulse oximeter developed by the university with an Android application. This Application must be able to control the device, start measurements and receive, process, save and display details.

At the first part of my dissertation I introduce the detailed specification and demonstrate the development environment, and the foundations of pulse oximetry. In the following chapters after I describe the top-level architecture, I present the steps of the implementation of each function. After testing the completed application I finish the presentation of my thesis with the the evaluation and further development opportunities.
