Nowadays electric powered cars are getting popular. In the Formula Student races besides the internal combustion powered modells appered more and more electric car. In my thesis will be represented in brief Technical University Budapest Race Team who have benn involved this championship since 2007. In addition, I present the brief history of electric cars. I conclude the various components of the electric drive train. I focused on the components of the Formula Student car. My main goal was to make a Matlab Simulink simulation model of the IGBT modules heat dissipation. I made telemetric data for the simulation Based on the dynamic race events. sI made a mechanical model of permanent magnet synchronous motor. I built an electrical modell of the permamnent magnet synchronous motor using park vectors. I created a simplified model of the voltage source inverter for simulate the IGBT switching and conductive losses. Finally I created a Foster thermal model based on the modul datasheet to simulate the heat transfer inside the IGBT modul.
