Measurement and compensation of current offset in Electric Power Steering

The ThyssenKrupp Presta company makes and develops electrical steering systems. The attendees on the market has a growing claim for the steering systems. Thanks to the rapid development of the electronic systems, these claims become more complex. As this market is growing, there are more steering system manufacturer, so in the competitions for the projects announced by the car manufacturers, that company will be the winner, who can ensure the most favorable result of the time, price and quality trio for the automakers.

My thesis project I have created at the ThyssenKrupp Presta was widely diversified. In the first part of the thesis I will present that, what this company deal with, then I will present the main componens of a general product (electric drive, inverter, pulse width modulation). In the next chapter I will talk about the theorical operation of the three phase current measurement. After this review I will calculate the transfer of the circuit diagram, so later the verifying of the results will be available. I will present the relevant periphery of the microcontroller with the associated software componens. When the software and the hardware are ready, I will demonstrate the difficulties during the system’s resuscitation then I will talk and show figures about the needed supplements. In the end I will apply two tested methods for the system testing, so we will get unequivocal results about the advantages and disadvanteges of the system. One of these is the torque ripple measurement, the other is the fault injection.
