The information hunger of our society is insatiable. We would like to know more and more quickly about the world around us. This fact and the opportunities provided by the Internet have established the possibility of creation variety of online databases, search engines and many other services.

It can happen with many people that they are getting bored, and this information hunger begins to work: What kind of programmes are there in my city? Is there a good concert somewhere tonight?

For example, Tripadvisor can help these bored people, which categorizes places and services available in a particular city and makes it available online, in searchable form. But Tripadvisor and many other online services are not able, or in my opinion not able well enough to find pre-scheduled events (such as a concert). Therefore the creation of such a service is a market demand.

The aim of my thesis is to summarize how an event search service should work and to present the implementation of one using Facebook Graph API. At the end of my thesis I evaluate the created service.
