Nowadays the industrial automation reached high level both in design and construction. SIEMENS is one of the biggest performers in the sector with its wide range hardware park and any software need in a project.

In today‘s world, time is short when reacting to ever-changing global trends, very demanding market conditions, and the resulting economic consequences. Maximum flexibility, reducing total cost of ownership, increasing productivity, optimising your production output and quality are great advantages in fierce market situations. SIEMENS’s aid to develop in the above mentioned areas.

SIMATIC PCS7 is a homogeneous and integrated process control system with uniquely scalable and flexible architecture, ideal basis for a cost-efficient implementation of process automation systems.

COMOS is a database based, complex, modular design software with special modules for mechanical, electrical and automation design where each user have an own special perspective for the database.

The P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) shows the piping of the process flow together with the installed equipment and instrumentation. It shows the technological contexts and the whole part of the technology in standard graphical form.

In my thesis I am going to describe an overall description of two SIEMENS designer programs, and I am going to make a P&ID of a specific task, which is the base of a PCS7 project’s hardware and software configuration.
