Architectures for functional safety in automotive applications

The design of an automotive system is a complex research task. These systems need to fulfil the functional safety standards. These development steps are predefined in the safety standards including the ISO26262 standard.

The goal of the work is to create a new system design methodology which fulfil the safety standards and allows to create a more transparent and maintainable system. The automotive researches are very price sensitive. The research costs need to minimize. With the presented methodology the basic software need to done only once .

The thesis describes the standards phases, and guides over the development of an ABS system. During the work I investigate the dual core microcontrollers on the market and create the technical safety concept for the selected processor.

The standard defines the steps for software architecture. I present the model based software design tools and the AUTOSAR standardised software architecture. Then I show a model based software development and the corresponding generation environment and the final ABS software components.
