Development of Reports and Function Elements in ISU subsystem

I prepared my thesis at HP Hungary Ltd., taking part in two running projects. Both projects took place at a Hungarian gas utility company, developing their SAP system with new functions and applications.

The purpose of the first project was to internalize the process of handing over unpaid accounts receivables to collection agencies. The problem was solved with ABAP language programs.

The process chain consists of three steps: preparing unpaid accounts receivables, passing them to a collection agency and finally processing the results. Preparing unpaid accounts receivables includes the process of enabling the items for collecting, and then choosing a collection agency for each item. After passing and receiving back the items, the results should be processed. Depending on the success of the process, the collected items are entered in the books and the success fee is calculated. The unsuccessful items are called back.

My task was to implement four ABAP programs:

• With the first one, each selected item can be attached to a collecting agency.

• The second program generates an Excel file for each collecting agency containing the detailed data of the attached items.

• The other two programs are for processing the results: the invoiced amount can be entered in the books and the success fee can be calculated.

The objective of the other project, I was taking part in, was to develop a data set (Info Cube) and a report, which serves to meet the requirements of the Hungarian Energy Office. Gas utility companies are officially obliged to prepare business reports about their sales data. In this project, my responsibilities included the development of an info cube and preparation of the program for the business report. I used Business Explorer, which is the SAP tool for preparing business reports based on data in the warehouse. The report is shown in Microsoft Excel. Among many reports, my duty was to prepare the MEH G610 report, which contains sales data in m3/h breakdown. As this report has more than one source of information, I also created a Multi Provider, which gives a unified interface towards Business Explorer, hiding the info cubes.

The results of both projects have been put to daily use at the utility company. Internalizing of previously non-SAP business components contributes to a better utilization of the already working SAP system of the utility company.
