Design of GSM based relay station used in wireless sensor networks

Different types of detectors as well as sensors may be found in every aspect of our daily lives. With the application of these devices, different measurements can be conducted, and even the occurrences of a certain phenomenon may be forecasted. As demands keep increasing along with the steady advancement of technology, one needs to process and analyze more and more parameters of a given environment. (Wireless) sensor-networks serve this purpose, where the devices, which realize certain functions, are able to communicate with one another; transferring information and measurement data within the system. Since it is desirable that the analyses of the data not be done on the spot; the sensor-networks are usually connected to some kind of telecommunication network.

The objective of my thesis is the development of a GSM base station that makes contact between the sensor-system and the operator; as well as creating a user interface (GUI), via which the GSM module can be controlled.

I found automatic data query and storing of great importance, with the help of which, less work is left to the operator. I designed and realized the system accordingly.
