The purpose of this study is to investigate a new overlay network, which supports the managing of the IP core network. This management network is a backup line in case of failure of the IP network. The official name of the network is Out of Band (OoB), since it ensures device access out of the regular network.
In the beginning of the study I introduce the ancestors of this network and the need for innovation. I touch upon the presentation of the core and even the management network’s devices, together with the reasons of choosing the equipment in the OoB network.
I performed literature survey about the used protocols in the network, in addition I have studied the current configuration in purpose of expension.
I made configuration files, in the interest of collaboration of the management and the core network, which has been used.
I considered several concepts for the purpose of manageability and mensurability of the OoB network, and I implemented an efficient and cost effective solution.
This study concludes with the qualification of the system, the summary of the work performed, and the plans for the future.
