In the recent years, the automotive industry in Hungary has grown to be the leading and one of the most dinamically developing branch of the economy. The tire manufacturing also plays an important role in the growth of the industry. For the manufacturing process of the tires it is essential to use a proper heating medium, for which I am presenting a hot-water system as a viable solution.
One of the critical tasks of the hot-water generation system is to keep the provided hot-water on an adequate level of pressure and temperature. At the beginning of my thesis I am presenting different controller tuning methods, used for solving complex control tasks. Then I am examining the applicability of these tuning methods on the system's pressure control loop. After analyzing the utility of the tuning methods, I am presenting the design, development and testing processes of the control program and visualisation application. Furthermore there is a demonstration of the subsystems responsible for the other control tasks of the system. The system overview, and the observations gained during the examination of the tuning methods are followed by the description of the testing process, closed by the summary of the conclusions.
