I had the opportunity to write my thesis at Lightware Kft. This company is at the world's leading edge in the development of professional AV products. The hardware and software development of each product, as well as the necessary measurements and tests, are realized within the company's walls.
It is important for us to be one step ahead of our competitors in the market. With the modular design of Lightware MX series video matrices the customers can easily cus-tomize a matrix that fully supports the multimedia system they want to build. Video matrices consist of IO cards with eight identical input or output connectors. There is a need to have combined cards in some facilities and meeting rooms where they require a small number of different interfaces.
My task is to develop a product that compatible with the Lightware MX matrices. It has four HDMI and four HDBT video outputs, it also has stereo or S/PDIF breakout for every video port. With these bi-directional connectors audio can de-embedded from the video signals or can embedded (or replaced) to the video signals. The device also implements a 10/100 Mbit Ethernet transmission. This product is PoE compatible, which means up to 15 W power over Ethernet, furthermore the HDMI outputs can deliver 2,5 W power. Video signals from the motherboard are regenerated and re-amplified by this output board.
