The purpose of this thesis is to become familiar with the latest technologies of the .NET, notably Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), and then to combine these technologies in a multiplayer game. This paper provides detailed introductions to the above mentioned technologies, how the server and the client applications are structured, the planning process and how they work. We examined this two technologies from the perspective of the software developers, concentrating on how it can improve the effectiveness of software development and the quality of the code.
In the second part, we will discuss the insights gained in the planning and making of this product, some ideas for possible future development, and also a short description of the usage of the application. The program was created using .NET Framework 4.0, and written in C# language with Visual Studio 2010. Finally the game can be played by multiple players simultaneously, over LAN. It has also a chat function.
