Sound database to support diagnostics and sound therapy

In these days, thanks to the technological advancements more and more opportunities open up, for example in health care. We are able to diagnose diseases only using a computer to analyze recorded voices spoken and read by different people. In order to develop these systems we need a large amount of training data, which are usually hard to reach because of ethical issues or just lack of cooperation among research laboratories.

That is why the goal of my thesis project is to create a system which is available via internet, and can be easily reached by doctors, patients and researchers. This could lead us to a win-win situation in which each participant could be satisfied. With this solution the doctors can treat the patients from far away, and the researchers can get valuable sound files, which can help them during their work to make more accurate systems. Since we are handling sensitive data in a system like this, during design and development phase we need to focus on safety critical elements of the system carefully. So one of the most important standpoint was, that the different users shouldn’t reach any information which wouldn’t be ethical and not even external, not authenticated third parties.

Henceforth it was also an important standpoint to use modern technologies in the project, so I chose the components of the trending MEANStack . With this approach the project and system could use new methodologies on each level. This is obviously a really challenge task, but on the other hand it is also really useful because it can make the procedure of development much easier. The modern frameworks and databases are in compliance with the modern requirements, provides various compatibilities with other platforms and they are not related to any old and obsolete technologies, conventions.

So in the first chapter we will see the requirements of the system, then in the second chapter we will see the mentioned new technologies in details. In the third chapter I will show the planning procedure, then in the fourth and fitfth chapter we will see how I created the project and what was the outcome. In the end of my thesis I will also present the future possibilities.
