Identification of Household Appliances Based on Their Current

Abstract

The aim of the degree work titled Identification of Household Appliances Based on Their Current is to introduce and summarize the different NILM methods and algorithms as well as implement one. The past and the present state of the NILM research which is gaining interest is reviewed by means of the international literature. The different methods and algorithms with their advantages and disadvantages as well as their other attributes which can be found in the literature are summarized without attempting to be complete. In addition, the degree work presents the characteristics and the electrical features of the household appliances and the principles of their measurement in order to work out a NILM method. The measurement set-up towards the analysis of the household devices can be found in a separate chapter. The operation of the implemented NILM algorithm with the results of the performed tests are reviewed in the third chapter. A short summary can be found about the observations as well as the further development prospects in the last chapter.
