Domestic-scale power plant system integration in smart grid environment

The Smart Grid is one of the most popular topic of today's electricity industry, due to the rapid growth in energy demand we need a network which can ensure sustainable energy production. In order to satisfy these demands we need to apply a device which is affordable, safe, effective, and fits into green technology. To achieve such a technology we need to determine the magnitude of the power plant and we also have to know how to integrate them.

It was proved that the conventional power plants with more capacity have less benefits than the domestic-scale power plants. The domestic-scale power plants can be operated more flexibly, they have better ramp up rate and they can keep up with technology much better. Another point in favour of the use of DERs is the immediate application of produced electrical and heat energy.

The current electricity system was invented for a different concept, for the centralized production with high capacity power plants. The aim of this research is to investigate the integration of domestic-scale power plants into the grid, considering the effects on power quality.
