Location-based supervisory system on Android platformon

After the release of the first mobile devices, the telecommunications industry was basically shaken by the penetration of smartphones. The computing capacity and performance of these devices have increased exponentially over the past one and a half decades, thanks to which this technological trend has increased to scientific fantasy level. Nowadays, doing the most basic activities is also difficult without mobile devices, such as getting a real-time public transport information or bridging a general communication gap.

Within the scope of my thesis, the design and implementation of a general-purpose location-based monitoring system will be presented.

To accomplish this task, I applied one of the most widely used mobile platform, the Android operating system, and the platform-determined modern tools. The application was in full implemented in Kotlin language, thus I could use several modern element, which appeared only a few months ago on the platform.

In closing, the experiences during my thesis will be presented. Furthermore, the opportunities for further development are also come to light.
