Location-based social application on Windows 7 platform

Recent years social networks have become very popular, they are part of usual everyday life now. Location-based applications did the same way, this is related to the spreading and developing of mobile devices. Those are usually shipped with locating technology nowadays. Recently, applications appeared which have both social and location aspects, we will call them geosocial networks. First, this paper will introduce how these sectors were developing during last years. In addition to theories, we present some other similar implementation in practice, then briefly evaluate them and set conclusions. Furthermore, we present a way how to mix these sectors. We have created such an application, the paper has the main focus on it. First, we present how the system was designed in details. After that, we will introduce the implementation of each subsystem. Finally, we evaulate the results, compare the two clients (Android and Windows Phone 7) and discuss the issues we faced during the implementation.
