Implementation of Homezone Assist function

During my thesis work I briefly describe the students’ competition known as „Go-Kart, Go-Bosch!, that was proposed for university students to compete against each other’s teams by transforming a common gokart in a way that it would be capable of facilitating various tasks associated with self driving cars without the need of human intervention.

I tell about the different levels of automation and its sensors so that the reader would gather same basic familiarity in the area of mobile robots.

I describe the SLAM problem, as known as Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping. I introduce the task that is to be solved, explain its many difficulties and give suggestions on the solutions of several of its subtasks.

My tasks is the implementation of the so called HomeZone Assist function, a higly automated procedure. First in the teaching phase of the function the user drives the car into the parking spot, so the next time the system automatically replays the parking process.

At the end I assess the experience I have gathered.
