Prototype development of a flow computer module for the DW 728 LGR type autonomous explosion proof data collection device

The topic of my thesis is the development of a flow computer module for the DW 728 LGR type autonomous explosion proof data collection device manufactured by Cason Mérnöki Zrt. The gas meters measure the volume of the gas at operating pressure and temperature, the flow computer calculates the volume and energy of the gas flowing through for the reference conditions.

In my thesis, I present the properties of the gases and related physical concepts. Futhermore, I review the calculation standards of the volumetric and energy flow. I studied the gas measurement system, which is used for custody transfer measuring on distribution and transport networks of natural gas. Considering the gas infrastructure of the neighboring countries and similar products of other companies, I analyzed the requirements of these measuring systems. Based on the information gathered, I prepared the specification of the flow computer module, then I developed the flow control module and the PC software used for its testing.
