Nowadays we live in an era of big enterprises. The economy is defined by companies who provide jobs to tens of thousands people across the globe. In order to keep decisions concerning corporate governance – like resource allocation and the knowledge base of employees- manageable, we need special means. The key to success is information. „Data is the new oil.” – Clive Humby Professional knowledge itself is not enough, we have to learn how to use it.

In this diploma thesis – in order to give a solution to the problems mentioned above – a data visualization tool was designed with the corresponding information provider. The storing of data related to corporate governance and human-resource expand to the field of NoSQL and graph databases, so the thesis starts with a brief overview of these technologies.

In the second chapter data visualization is introduced, which is the easiest way to define and understand complex problems and solutions. In this part the details of the visualization is described, as well as its pros and cons.

In the next chapters the design and implementation aspects of the data provider component and the visualization tool are examined, detailing the corresponding technologies and solutions. For server-side Neo4j database and Java language were chosen. On the other hand, for the client-side HTML5 Canvas and WebGL technology was the choice along with the Three.js framework. The next part of the diploma thesis was to implement and test both the data provider component as well as the visualization tool.

As the conclusion of this diploma thesis future developing possibilities are overviewed, and a summary can be read about the achievements.

The final data provider component and visualization tool are able to give a solution to the mentioned challenges. Using them make the corporate governance transparent and manageable.
