Nowadays in our fast world it’s important for people to reach the information what they need anytime and anywhere quickly and easily. Their biggest help in this are the mobile technologies, what give wide scale of opportunities for them through cooperation of different networks to reach any data what they would like to use.

One of these technologies which maybe has the most hopeful vision is the IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem). Thanks for it’s construction it grants perfect opportunities to be a good choice for building intelligent home networks. Through these networks the simple and fast information flow has become reachable, because of the comfortable and user friendly interface and control.

The purpose of my degree work is to describe and demonstrate an IMS-SIP based server what fits in the intelligent home’s construction, and with this server the users are able to make a covered handover. In their home using the server’s remote controller they will be able to redirect an opened communication thread to another device without losing the connection even if it’s a video stream, or a SIP phone call.
