Investigation of PWM Inverter fed Induction Motor Drive

In my thesis work I deal with the examination of Siemens SINAMICS S120 PWM inverter, I give an overview of the induction motor speed control, the structure of modern inverters and theirs areas of applications.

I give a brief overview of the structure of the inverter parameters, parameter settings, diagnostic options and maintenance. I demonstrate the connectivity options to a Personal Computer, the parameterization, the diagnostic options with the software and the usage of user interfaces.

I review the function and settings of the protections and limitations, the main technical options of the different version of V/f control, the methods of error

compensation, and the possibilities of vector-control.

I performed laboratory measurements to examine some version of the V/f control, and the static mode behavior of vector-control under different loading

conditions.
