In recent years Google has acquired one of the leading positions on the mobile platform market with Android. In addition to that, tablet computers started to gain acceptance amongst consumers, for which the Android OS provides an obvious solution. These devices provide a richer, more innovative user experience compared to smaller mobile computing devices.

There's continous rise in the need for mobile smart clients that access large scale (enterprise) information systems, with which users can view and modify contained data. Devices with large touch-screens require new solutions for interacting and integrating with these systems. The main problem areas to cover are:

- To take part in the development process of a rich smart client application for the Android platform, targeting tablet mobile computing devices

- Investigate and compare testing procedures that benefit the most in the development process of such applications

- Design and implement an architecture for the stated application

- Design and implement new UI-widgets that enable innovative and intuitive user interaction if needed
