Nowadays, generative software development is becoming widespread thanks to the advantages that code generation based on precise modelling provides. Such tools greatly improve efficiency compared to manual software development methods saving development costs.
In embedded automotive systems reliability is a critical requirement. Thus model-driven development techniques are used supported by source coude synthesis. Each component consists of tens of thousands of model elements. The processing of such models might take a considerable amount of time. It is undesirable that processing of the entire model should take place on each minor amendment. This thesis focuses on turning the source code synthesis incremental in an existing automotive software development tool. The concrete aim of this thesis is to make a part of the source code generation process incremental utilising the open source EMF-IncQuery framework developed at the Department of Measurement and Information Systems in ThyssenKrupp Presta Hungary Ltd's internally developed modelling tool which implements AUTOSAR standards.
