Design of an intelligent data glove

The aim of this final project is to introduce the creation of an intelligent data glove

prototype and a supplementing visualization software that can be later improved and used

for intuitive control of special machines and robot arms.

In the first two part, the research for existing data gloves examples, furthermore

the possible solutions for measuring the motions of the hand are introduced, with

emphasis on the different types of flex sensors. In addition, the creation and testing of a

homemade flex sensor are discussed.

In the next chapters the design steps of the hardware are demonstrated, which is

based on a PIC32 microcontroller and communicates via a bluetooth module with the

computer. Afterwards the implementation of the firmware for the hardware is introduced,

and also the software for the simulation created in LabVIEW.

In the last part the conducted test are presented along with the evaluation of the

results, and also the possibilities for the reasons behind the reasons for the results are

discussed.
