Development of an intelligent shopping list

In these days a lot of software based on location-based technologies are presented, however there is not a standard shopping list software wherewith we can check our goods on a map with an opportunity to edit routes for navigation. There are not applications for automatically generating shortest routes for shopping. This diploma created to fill these gaps.

I make a short overview on the history of location-based services from 1970 until present, show the often used indoor technologies nowadays focused on the Wi-Fi technologies standardized by the IEEE 802.11. I make a list about the most important definitons related to location-based services, some famous application will be demonstrated.

I demonstrate the system design model and the server program for the transmission of test datas. The communication protocol between server and client software is a simple XML-based protocol. In the course of displaying the client surface I reveal the business logic behind the product and I summarize the experiences during the development.
