Design and Implementation of Intelligent Office Supply System

The subject of my thesis is designing and implementing an intelligent office supply system, which is able to cater to the needs of employees at an office or plant, supplying them with personal protective gear, office supplies, and maybe even the usual snacks and beverages. The system uses RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) access cards, one of the most frequently used technology for workplace identification and access control.

Usage of the system can be monitored through an online administration interface, where some of it’s features can be managed, such as adjusting users permissions, or viewing the stock available from the products contained in the machine.

In my thesis I explored the development history of various vending machine types, and also took a closer look on some current models – both professionally produced and home-made – that share some similarities with my project. Then I present the technological features, with attention to the main components, and the most prevalent technologies used while implementing them.

Based on the knowledge gathered, I have designed and implemented my own interpretation of a machine, that can be used as the foundation for an intelligent supply system. At last after presenting the final system, I also reflect upon the future uses and possibilities for the project.
