I am a lot far from my home as a result of my university study, I spend my weekdays in Budapest.
In connection with this, the claim emerged for the remote monitoring and remote controlling of the flat in order to know what happens at home and let me be allowed to control certain things from a distance, for example on a mobile phone or via Internet. Simple examples are onto this, watching of the temperature and switching on the heating.
I was already fortuned to work earlier with some products of the Arduino prototyping platform on a hobby level. Due to their low price, plain programming and extensibility, my choice fell on these products to realize of the components of the system. Inside the frameworks of my thesis I leaded up and presented the benefits and the disadvantages of the intelligent home systems in generality. In the accompaniment of a logic system design we may get the hang of an imagined system and its construction, furthermore we also take the system microcontrollers into consideration, presenting the differences between them. The single sensors and intervening components – from which the later modules will be – are mentioned in my paper, too. I also outline the wiring diagrams which are necessary for their function, and the single components get to testing concerned with the help of a short code. Exemplifying the function of the later communication I tested also the radio module, which is playing an important role in the network's development. The user interfaces were set up, too, with their help our system can be queried and controlled on GSM with a call and SMS, on Ethernet via web and a mobile application. I also mentioned benefits of the Marmalade SDK and the mobile application in my paper.
Finally I presented a smaller demo system, exemplifying the joint function of the described electronic components. I built up the demo system using the wiring diagrams and program codes given in the paper and it's testing was successful and yielded the expected results.
