ECUs being used in these days cars, reached the complexity level when build a reliable, robust, and safety critical system is only feasible according to a standard. That standard is the AUTOSAR which provides a whole software stack to the car industry. The development of microchips in clock and number of cores lets the developers to write more complex and resource-intensive softwares. To use these features the AUTOSAR standard includes a real time oprating system based on OSEK OS.
The scheduling algorithm described in this paper is made for AUTOSAR version 4.0.3.
In this paper I will discuss the AUTOSAR standard, the included operating system and the scheduling algorithm it uses it. Furthermore, the present paper reader detailed insight into the workings of the applied scheduling algorithms, I discuss the advantages, disadvantages and compares them with other existing techniques.
