Development of Mobile Framework for Virtual Exhibitions

In the following years the virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies will be developing in a rapid rate. Big companies are racing with each other to decide who can develop better head head-mounted display in the shortest time. The main competitors in the virtual reality technology are the Oculus Rift, the Samsung Gear VR, the Project Morpheus and the HTC Vive, on the augmented reality side the Microsoft HoloLens. All of these devices provide a full spatial experience but these aren't available for all people, even tough the basis of the technology is simple, all you need is two displays or one display with split screen, a gyroscope and an accelerometer. To tell the truth these aren't all that far from the average users, in fact the smartphone in our pocket has all these devices. During my thesis I will test the sensors installed in an average phone or tablet, and based on that knowledge I will build a museum that the user can walk around in using the screen of an android device as a window to the virtual world. The project is developed with the Unity3D graphic engine.
