Simulation of Vehicle Drives

In my thesis I deal with the modelling and simulation of different types of vehicle drives using MATLAB/Simulink. I give an overview of the assembly of a vehicle drive model driven by an internal combustion engine. I describe the role and operation of the components used in the model. I do drive cycle simulation with the complete model then I compare the results with real measurments.

I also give an overview of the assembly of an electric vehicle drive model using permanent magnet synchronous motor. I describe the role and operation of the components I am using in the model. I demonstrate the operation of a battery supplied motor and a constant DC voltage source supplied motor through drive cycle simulation.

I give a brief overview of the drive systems and the hybrid strategies of the hybrid electric vehicles. After that I describe the process of the vehicle drive model’s assembly and present the role and operation of the components I am using including the controlling methods of the electric generator. I do drive cycle simulation with the complete model.

And finally, I make the comparison of the three types of vehicle on the basis of their dynamism and describe the advantages and disadvantages of the models examined.
