Along with the dynamic growth and continuous improvement of the automotive industry it is becoming more and more important to develop an efficient and safe system for transportation which can actively cooperate with the smart urban infrastructure. The thesis gives a comprehensive picture about the basics of cooperative transportation and V2X-based traffic management solutions.
The first chapter introduces the concept of transportation and gives a generic picture about the development of the C-ITS platform. The second chapter is about the analyses of V2X-based traffic management solutions and basic mathematical techniques related to traffic theory. The third chapter covers the detailed description of the communication protocols used in vehicular networks focusing on the structure and behavior. The fourth chapter gives an outlook on popular simulation frameworks and applications. The fifth chapter presents the implemented application and simulation results then gives advices for further development.
