Information systems are spreading worldwide. As the use of digital equipment becomes more widespread, the need for controlling access also steadily increases.

This demand appears in modern industrial environments as well. The main challenges of quality assurance regulations in industrial control engineering comprise access management issues. Modern SCADA systems must provide the highest levels of security.

The topic of this thesis work is the presentation of the access management of an existing industrial SCADA system. The mechanism of user login is expected to be compatible with the Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure. Every logged in user’s access should be validated based on the S88 model of the automated system.

It’s essential for the access management system to provide an intuitive user interface running in the SCADA application as well.

First, the structure and user management of Microsoft Active Directory is discussed. Next, concepts regarding the S88 model and its access management concerns are introduced. Subsequently, the chosen access management system is presented. The thesis report is concluded with some remarks about the completed system, the login process and some other features.
